South America

Upon entering zoo grounds, a troop of rambunctious squirrel monkeys will greet you as they scamper through tree branches. Meanwhile roseate spoonbills, pelicans and crested screamers enjoy the surrounding pond. Then as you wind your way on through South America, you’ll see Chilean flamingos resting on one leg or wading in the water. You will probably hear those beautiful, but very noisy macaws before you actually see them perched on their tree branches. Continuing on the shaded path, you’ll encounter golden lion and cotton-top tamarins, giant anteaters, king vultures and stunning scarlet ibis.

And, nestled in a cozy corner of South America is a fun play area for kids. There’s lots of sand play, tunnels to crawl through as well as a tractor to pretend to drive.
