CELEBRATE FLAG DAY ON JUNE 12 WITH THE CALDWELL ZOO AND KOOI SUNNY 106.5
Patrons will enjoy live remote radio broadcast and special drawings for great prizes during festivities.

TYLER, TEXAS - June 8, 2004 - The Caldwell Zoo and KOOI Sunny 106.5 salute Flag Day this Saturday, June 12, 2004 with a special patriotic celebration. All Caldwell ZooMembers will enjoy free red, white and blue snow cones, and anyone wearing red, white and blue will receive $1 off the general admission price to the zoo. The festivities will also feature KOOI Sunny 106.5's morning drive time disc jockey Dave Moreland in a live remote broadcast from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

"Flag Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate family, and the Caldwell Zoo is a natural place for family fun," said Caldwell Zoo Executive Director Hayes Caldwell. "These celebratory festivities are a great way to enjoy the day."

Everyone who attends the Caldwell Zoo on Flag Day will be eligible to enter a drawing for prizes including family memberships to Caldwell Zoo and $25 gift certificates good for food or merchandise anywhere in the zoo.

Over the last 50 years, the Caldwell Zoo has delighted millions of visitors. The zoo began as the backyard menagerie of Tyler business leader, D. K. Caldwell. Today, true to Caldwell's vision and under the caring guidance of his nephew, Executive Director Hayes Caldwell, the Caldwell Zoo has become one of the finest small zoos in the country with 2,000 animals representing 250 different species. A regional destination, the zoo attracts thousands of visitors each year and has been recognized as one of the top zoos in the South.

The Caldwell Zoo is open daily from 9:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. from April 1 through September 30 and from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. from October 1 through March 31.   The zoo is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
