Located in the North America area of the Caldwell Zoo, the herpetarium is truly a cold-blooded adventure. There are ectotherms of all types— “fearsome” tarantulas, slithering snakes, toadily awesome frogs, amazing lizards and even some native Texas fish swimming in their 12,000 gallon pool—just to mention a few. You’ll want to be sure to check out Annie the green anaconda. Back in 2009, this little girl came to us when she was 1½ years old and was about 18 inches long. When Annie is full grown she will be over 20 feet long!
