Services & Amenities

Wagon and stroller rentals are available for $6.00 + tax ($6.50 total) and wheelchairs are $6.79+ tax ($7.35 total). Come to Visitor Services, located just inside the Zoo entrance. Photo ID required for rental.
Enjoy a unique shopping experience at our Crossroads Trading Company, located at the zoo’s main entrance. Amidst a fun jungle atmosphere, you will find T shirts, plush toys, gifts and many souvenir items. We also have a great selection of books and jewelry for all ages. Necessities such as sunglasses and hats are also available.We accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover. The Chakula Café located on the African Overlook is open and wanting to “Karibu Tena” (welcome back) our visitors. Come try our new menu and expanded indoor and outdoor seating. All our burgers are made with 1/4lb. Angus beef patties. Be sure to try our new Texas Cheeseburger topped with pepper jack cheese, BBQ sauce and onion straws or a Chicken Fajita Taco made with a side of nacho cheese and tortilla chips. On those hot summer days, cool off with a refreshing Lemon Chill or one of our souvenir animal sippers. And, don’t forget that as always the snack stand located near Wild Bird Walkabout is dishing up drinks, snacks and, of course, snow-cones.We accept VISA, Mastercard, and Discover. The zoo offers picnic spots in our main parking lot near the zoo’s main entrance.Groups arriving by bus are invited to use the large picnic area at the bus parking area on Gentry Parkway.


For your safety and that of the animals, fires, pets and sporting equipment are not allowed at Caldwell Zoo.

Outside food is not allowed on zoo grounds. Caldwell Zoo does offer family picnic spots in our main parking lot, adjacent to the zoo’s main entrance. Groups arriving by bus are invited to use the large picnic area at the bus parking lot on Gentry Parkway.

Caldwell Zoo animals are fed scientifically prepared diets. Please help keep all the animals healthy by not feeding them “people food.” Duck and fish food dispensers are available in the North America area of the zoo (25¢). The Wild Bird Walkabout, which allows zoo guest to feed parakeets and cockatiels for $1.00, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, March through November, and on the African Overlook our giraffes can be fed lettuce leaves for $5.00. Weather and animals permitting.
