Cheetah Week!
Int’l Cheetah Day is December 4th and we want to celebrate these amazing felines! These spotted creatures are the fastest land mammals on earth and can cover over 20 feet in a single bound.
Cheetahs are an endangered species and we want to make sure they are around for generations and generations to come.
The Caldwell Zoo is a member of the Cheetah Breeding Centers Coalition, a consortium of worldwide experts in breeding these highly sensitive animals. The Cheetah Breeding Coalition helps to maintain healthy genetic diversity of breeding animals. In 2021, with support from our community, we were able to expand our breeding facilities so that we can continue to do more to help this endangered species.
