Planning Ahead

There’s plenty to do and explore at the zoo. A little advance planning will help you get the most out of your visit. Although the zoo is expansive, guests usually can see the habitats in about 2 hours. We are located in a mildly hilly part of Tyler, so expect elevation changes. We want everyone to be able to connect with nature and explore our fun-filled campus. The zoo was built to be easy to navigate and comfortable for all our visitors.

Visitor Services

Our team of hospitality professionals is here to help make your visit fun and rewarding. Visitor Services is located near the main entrance. If you have any questions or need assistance, our team is here to help.

Entrance

Coming to the zoo should be a breeze. To make entering the zoo quick and simple, and to ensure ticket availability, advance tickets and member reservations are strongly suggested.  You may access the Main Entrance from the main parking lot by stairs or ramp. Once inside, maps are mounted throughout the grounds to help guide you. All pathways are clearly marked to show the locations of specific animals and attractions.

Restrooms

There are 4 large, public restrooms on zoo grounds.

  • Main Entrance (behind our giftshop, the Crossroads Trading Center)
  • African Overlook
