December 4th is International Cheetah Day!
This Thursday 12/4, we take a moment to celebrate the breathtaking grace and incredible speed of the magnificent cheetah. Caldwell Zoo is home to a coalition of beautiful, energetic cheetahs, all with their own unique personalities. They love to zoom about and bat around their toys just like a house cat would!
They may be the fastest land mammals on Earth, but because of habitat loss, their future depends on us. Caldwell Zoo is a proud member of the Cheetah Breeding Centers Coalition, where our team collaborates with experts around the globe to maintain the healthy genetic diversity these sensitive animals need to thrive. Through our advanced cheetah breeding center, we’ve made huge strides in their conservation. Remember, every visit to the Zoo helps us ensure a bright future for cheetahs all over the world.
